Welcome to ellengloverdressage.co.uk

I have always had a passion for horses and loaned our first pony when I was eight years old, from there I caught the bug, participating in everything I could from local shows to Pony Club teams from Dressage through to Eventing.

I knew the career path I wanted to take was with horses and attended Hartpury College to study, Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management. During this time I gained experience at top yards around the country, from Olympic Show Jumper Tim Stockdale to British Event Rider Tom Searle, as well as show grooming at Vilamoura Atlantic Tour in Portugal, where I learnt invaluable skills travelling horses abroad.

Whilst riding at Hartpury I met Sadie Smith, we started talking and very shortly I began working weekends for Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin during my studies.

A new found love for dressage had evolved and Sadie began training me. In 2018 I attended my first British Dressage Regional Championship to win with Holme Park Flaunt. Within 2018/19 I had lots of success with Holme Park Flaunt and Alamo II, winning two Regional titles and competing at three National Championships.

After two incredible years I finished my studies at Hartpury with top grades and two additional awards; the NAF Five Star Trophy for being the Top Practical Student and the Tom Searle Memorial Trophy for the Student Most Dedicated to the Sport.

Whilst at Hartpury Carl offered me a permanent role to start as soon as my course finished which I eagerly accepted.

Deciding to take a step back to go forwards I put a pause on competing and invested in additional qualifications, (BD Recognised Coach; BD List 5 Judge; BEF Young Professionals Programme), two dressage bred foals for the future, setting up my own yard and developing my business alongside working for Carl and Charlotte.

I was thrilled to break in my young horses in 2021/22, with Morricone’s Love MFS winning his first British Dressage Test with 78% as a four year old.

At the beginning of 2023, after six years of working for Carl and Charlotte, I decided to focus on my own business providing me with the opportunity of more time to develop my career.

During my time with Carl and Charlotte I had the opportunity to ride some of the best horses in the world, something of which dreams are made of.  Learning my trade, along with grooming for Charlotte at Premier League and National Shows,  partnered with one of the best International Show Grooms, Alan C Davies.
